As soon as the parents find out that they are pregnant, they cannot stay in their places with happiness and excitement. From that moment on, they count the days to hold the babies. During pregnancy, they are very important for the development of the baby.

What Is Beta HCG During Pregnancy?

Beta HCG is the name of a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin. With the sample taken from the expectant mother, pregnancy leads to early diagnosis. It is popularly known as the pregnancy hormone. It is produced by the placenta, and this hormone is usually detected in the blood, giving signals to the expectant mother and father whether there is pregnancy or not. The most important role of the Beta HCG hormone is that it provides early detection of pregnancy. After four to five weeks, the values increase exponentially. The proximity of the lower limit or the upper limit does not have any significance for the mother or the baby.

How is the Beta HCG Test Done?

Beta HCG test is done with a simple blood test and although it varies according to laboratory conditions, the result is usually taken within the same day.

What is the Normal Value for Beta Hcg in Twin Pregnancy?

Beta HCG value increases quite rapidly in twin pregnancies. This value is very important. Mothers whose hCG value does not increase are very worried in this case. Beta HCG level increases faster in twin pregnancy than in single pregnancy. However, it should be known that every high beta HCG does not mean multiple pregnancy.

      How Does Beta HCG Increase?

Under normal conditions during pregnancy, an increase in Beta HCG hormone is observed in the blood from 6 days after fertilization. This increase reaches twice the previous amount every 2 days. In the absence of such a regular increase, if low Beta HCG is detected, negative conditions about pregnancy are taken into consideration. If the pregnancy process has started and the baby can attach to the uterine wall in a healthy way, the placenta shows a healthy development and continues to produce beta HCG regularly.
